A transcript of the original manuscript of Falckner's Curieuse Nachricht von Pennsylvania, made for Julius Friedrich Sachse from December 1902 to January 1903 and checked for accuracy by the then librarian and headmaster of the Orphanage Library of Halle an der Saale, K. Weiske. Falckner's work was made up of a series of responses to 94 questions by August Hermann Francke. The first 73 questions are listed at the beginning of the manuscript. Sachse used this transcript for his translation of the work published in 1905. Falckner's work stimulated the great German emigration to Pennsylvania in the early years of the 18th century.
